Job Summary:
The Senior Manager for High Purity Depleted Uranium (HPDU) is responsible for leading and managing the start-up, commissioning, staffing, training, readiness, and initial operations of HPDU projects at the NOG-J site in Jonesborough, Tennessee. This position plays a pivotal role in the overall success of the HPDU projects by overseeing departmental operations, driving performance improvements, and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. The Senior Manager will lead multiple related teams, develop departmental plans, manage resources, and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.

- Conducts regular performance evaluations and facilitates team-building initiatives.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement departmental strategies and objectives aligned with the organization’s vision and long-term site goals.
- Proactively identify areas for operational improvement and implement strategies that prepare the department for expanded site leadership responsibilities.
- Work closely with senior leadership to understand the dynamics of site-wide operations.
- Engage in strategic planning sessions that position the HPDU function as a critical component of the site’s overall operational excellence.
Team Management:
- Lead and mentor teams, providing guidance for professional development and performance improvement.
- Foster a culture of cross-training and leadership development to enable career progression into broader operational roles.
Project Oversight:
- Manage and oversee key HPDU projects, ensuring timely execution within scope and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts, resolve issues, and ensure scalability for future expanded operational roles.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost control and optimal resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements that can be leveraged across site operations.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing processes and workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies and implement enhancements.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures that can be adopted as best practices across the site.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure departmental success and progress.
- Prepare comprehensive performance reports and strategic insights to support future site-wide operations planning.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding departmental initiatives, challenges, and accomplishments.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across the organization to facilitate cooperative efforts for future site leadership.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with departmental operations, building frameworks applicable for full site oversight.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Background in chemical processing; experience in start up of new chemical lines preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute functional business plans.
- In-depth understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in management and operations, with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a STEM related field plus 15 years of relevant experience OR master’s degree in engineering or a STEM related field plus 13 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance, if required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $136,000 - $207,000
The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $136,000 and $207,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
