Welding Technical Specialist - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio

 

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and develop Welder/Welding Operator/Brazing training curriculum for new hire weld department employees.
  • Administer and evaluate welded/brazed test assemblies for acceptance.
    • Conduct destructive testing and analysis of welded/brazed test assemblies.
  • Provide industry level quality welding instruction on Manual GTAW, Automatic GTAW, and Brazing.
  • Provide feedback to Welders/Welding Operators/Brazers and Welding Engineers/Weld Supervisor on trainee progress.
  • Monitor and document trainee progress in the program.
  • Maintain test assembly and weld consumable inventory.
  • Prepare and update training welding procedures as required.
  • Program welding parameters on AMET, Fronius, and Liburdi welding equipment.
  • Troubleshoot welding technique and routine equipment issues/maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate, or equivalent, formal welding technical education is a plus but not mandatory (i.e. CWI/CWE).
  • Minimum of 8 years of welding experience in a shop environment.
    • Hands-on welding and brazing experience is required.
  • Applicants should have a thorough understanding and working knowledge of manual GTAW, Automatic GTAW and manual brazing.
  • Familiarity in welding of stainless and high nickel base alloy materials preferred.
  • Experience in torch brazing copper preferred.
  • Ability to work on a PC using Microsoft Office applications.
