Position Overview:
As our Test Engineer, you will provide technical support in a team environment for the development, assembly, and testing of electromechanical control drive systems as well as performing electrical and mechanical testing and mechanical design.
Location:
On-site in Euclid, Ohio
Your Day to Day as a Test Engineer:
- Provide leadership and technical expertise throughout the Assembly & Test department in the mechanical design of tooling and fixturing using Pro-Engineer.
- Develop and write detailed assembly/test procedures, analysis of test data, test reports and process routings as well as document modifications and/or redesign of test setups.
- Participate in engineering design review activities.
- Prepare and review high quality written reports and documentation.
- Interface with customers, engineers, and other functional departments in support of department objectives.
- Other tasks as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with some Electrical Engineering interest.
- Minimum one (1) co-op experience in a design or test environment preferred for entry level candidates; seeking candidates at all experience levels.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.
- Experience working on team projects providing mechanical design solutions using CAD software (Pro-E preferred).
- Solid understanding of materials and tolerance selection.
- Working knowledge of ASME, ANSI, ISO and other industry codes, standards, and regulations is preferred.
- Familiarity with designing for manufacturing and assembly.
- Ability to perform stress analysis (hand calculations and/or FEA) as needed to verify designs.
- Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal, and mechanical systems.
- Labview programming experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach to identifying and solving complex problems while maintaining project schedules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
