Operations Manager - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio
Manage overall operations, effectively and successfully managing labor, productivity, and safety measures as established for the Operations Department. This position reports to the Deputy General Manager.
Responsibilities:

Ensure safe and efficient operations
-
Formulate and execute operational objectives, goals, and tactical plans
-
Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs
-
Manage Facilities and Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and NC Programming & Tooling
-
Manage budgets and forecasts
-
Control and direct capital purchases and budget
-
Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenue
-
Track staffing requirements, hiring new employees as needed
-
Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
-
Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices
-
Drive long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company's overall goals
-
Champion process improvements & digital transformation initiatives
-
Demonstrate organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority, essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects
-
Manage ~3 subordinate managers who oversee a total of 175+ employees including both salary and hourly UAW Union employees.

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and with applicable laws.

Interview, hire and train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in technical area or degree with equivalent experience in technical area
-
Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Minimum ten (10) years of manufacturing experience
-
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
-
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
-
Ability to effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, across departments, and when interviewing others for job openings
-
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers throughout the company
-
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Ability to train others

Proficient with word-processing, spreadsheet applications, human resource systems, and manufacturing software, such as MS Word, Excel and SAP

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
