Maintenance Supervisor – BWX Technologies, Inc. – Euclid, OH




  • Maintaining qualified maintenance staff; implementing formal and on-the-job craft training programs.
  • Assisting maintenance technicians for troubleshooting manual and CNC equipment
  • Developing daily, weekly, and monthly availability schedules, updating as required, and distributing schedules.
  • Coordinating maintenance activities with Production and material availability to complete scheduled and emergent work.
  • Helping to prepare the maintenance budget.
  • Support facility programs in accordance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Ensuring all site and department safety standards meet BWXT EHS requirements.
  • Enforce all security and company policies including the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Purchasing of maintenance tools, maintenance parts, supplies and equipment.
  • Maintaining an inventory of spare parts to minimize machine downtime.
  • Recommending outside contractors, when required for maintenance or repair of equipment.
  • Monitoring the performance of outside contractors.
  • Assigning priority to Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PDM).
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on all equipment and machine tools necessary.
  • Maintain time records into SAP as required while monitoring employee attendance.
  • Schedule overtime according to needs.
  • Ensure area housekeeping is up to expectations.
  • Communicate pertinent and relevant issues to other supervision and management.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, Associate’s degree in a technical field or industrial trade science is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a supervisory role in an industrial setting combined with EITHER:
    • Five (5) years’ hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing maintenance organization as an electrician, NC technician, millwright, conventional machine mechanic, or NC mechanic.
    • Equivalent hands-on military experience in a technical field achieving a rank sufficient to demonstrate supervisory experience.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Trade plus or better in: Mechanical Systems, Industrial Electrical, Hydraulic Skills, and/or Pneumatic Skills. 
  • Knowledge of CNC machine design, function and operation.
  • Edit and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic on Fanuc & Siemens CNC controls.
  • Be able to read and interpret complex circuit schematics/diagrams and blueprints.
  • Be experienced in construction including building and structural codes, platform specifications and fabrication, machining of components and foundations.
  • Able to climb caged ladders up to 100 feet above ground
  • Have experience in the following Industry Standards;
    • NFPA70E – Electrical Safety Workplace
    • NFPA 79 – Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
    • NFPA70B – Electrical Equipment Maintenance
    • NEC Code
    • OSHA 1910
    • Fanuc Alpha I Servo Maintenance

Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
