Inspection Manager  -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Euclid, OH



  • Ensure the department is working safely and adhering to company EH&S policies.
  • Manage four (4) direct report Front Line Managers who oversee receiving, dimensional inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT).
  • Responsible for department utilization, efficiency, throughput and volume goals.
  • Own and manage results communicated on department Visual Performance Boards (VPB).
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Order additional department supplies, gages, and equipment as needed.
  • Review and disposition source inspection requests.
  • Participates in meetings/hearings to resolve grievances. 
  • All other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in technical area or degree with equivalent experience in technical area required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing environment experience. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory/management experience. 
    • Experience working or managing in a union environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong verbal and technical skills required.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)/ANSI Y-14 preferred.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods including VT, PT, MT, UT and RT preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.



The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $92,000 and $142,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
