Industrial Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio

Facility/Reliability Engineer oversees the organization's physical infrastructure needs including buildings and capital equipment. This role will use data to recommend predictive/preventative solutions to mitigate downtime.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage multiple different contractor trades on a daily basis.
  • Serve in an expert role in all aspects of an organization's physical infrastructure needs, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); structural and civil engineering requirements; maintenance of a facility's building automation system (BAS); lighting; roofing; fire protection; and other specific structural needs.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the maintenance department to develop and schedule predictive, prescriptive and preventative plans on equipment and facilities focusing on minimizing the occurrence of adverse effects that could affect the operation of the facility.
  • Consider impact of costs on recommended action plans for avoiding/correcting problems during the design phase or remedial action for correcting problems on installed equipment.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis to help prevent failures.
  • Work with architects and other engineers and designers to ensure that design criteria meet established codes that are required by governmental regulation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
  • Daily use of skills in mechanical, electrical, welding, pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Conduct studies in operations to maximize work flow and spatial utilization.
  • Bring new innovative technology to assist in continuous improvement.
  • Support financial planning, cost analysis and financial justification of current and future capital procurements and facility upgrades.
  • Organizational skills and the flexibility to jump from priority to priority are essential to a role that juggles a variety of functions and projects.
  • Performs other work as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Technology degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience. 
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and manufacturing software (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
