Electrical/Test Engineer - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, OH

Provide technical support in a team environment for the development, assembly, and testing of electromechanical control drive systems as well as performing electrical and mechanical testing and electrical circuit design.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and technical expertise throughout the Assembly & Test department.
  • Design digital and analog electronic circuits, control systems, and data acquisition systems.
  • Design and implement automated test and data acquisition systems using National Instruments Labview.
  • Develop and write detailed assembly/test procedures, analysis of test data, test reports, and process routings as well as document modifications and/or redesign of test setups.
  • Participate in engineering design review activities.
  • Prepare and review high quality written reports and documentation.
  • Interface with customers, engineers, and other functional departments in support of department objectives.
  • Other tasks as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with some mechanical aptitude.
  • Minimum one (1) year co-op/internship experience (design or test environment preferred) for entry level candidates; seeking candidates at all experience levels. 
  • Familiarity with electrical schematic capture, simulation, and PCB design (OrCAD/Allegro preferred)
  • Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to effectively utilize electrical test equipment, oscilloscopes, and multimeters as needed to verify designs and troubleshoot test equipment.
  • Experience in programming for data acquisition and control (LabVIEW, C/C++, PLCs preferred)
  • 3D CAD experience a plus (CREO/SolidWorks preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to identifying and solving complex problems while maintaining project schedules.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
