BWXT is currently seeking a Contract/Proposal Specialist for its Euclid, OH location!


The Contract/Proposal Specialist role will be responsible for all aspects of proposal preparation (from inquiry receipt until successful conclusion of negotiations) and submission for potential projects to ensure that bids are responsive, competitive, and complete.


Job Description/Duties:

  • Interacts, coordinates, and leads customers and internal groups during contract bidding, contracting phases, and closeout activities.
  • Understands and applies knowledge of Terms and Conditions and various Federal Regulations (FAR, DFAR, ACR) in work decisions.
  • Negotiates all aspects of contracts.
  • Reviews all purchase orders and purchase order agreements.
  • Maintains positive customer relations and marketing efforts directed toward maximizing quotation opportunities.
  • Reviews and interprets customer’s bid specification.
  • Identifies and evaluates associated risks with proposed projects and address these factors with management.
  • Ensures complete and timely submission of responsive bids.



Job Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (from an ABET-accredited university) or Business Management/Administration is required.
  • Must possess at least two (2) years of related experience.  Technical experience preferred.
  • Strong time management, organization, and computer skills are required.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated with ability to work on multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skill required (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Government contract law, good business practices, accounting, scheduling, contracting techniques (negotiation and analytical skills) and technical competence.
  • Ability to analyze estimates of costs for prospective work and determine the mark up and price strategy necessary to achieve and sustain profit goals; ability to learn all aspects of the business.
  • Knowledge of the company’s product is beneficial.
  • Prior experience with Estimating ProPricer software is preferred.     
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

US Citizenship, with no dual citizenship is required for this position.
