Technologist 3 -  Electronic & Instrumentation  Engineering 

 

Position Overview:

Responsible for the accumulation, analysis, development, and application of data required for the design and structural analysis of components or related parts/materials.

 

Location:

On-site in Erwin, Tennessee.

 

Your Day to Day as a Technologist 3 (E&I)

1. Performs the more sophisticated calculations and work required for the design and structural analysis of nuclear components and related parts, materials, and equipment.

2.  Prepares and reviews reports and evaluates content for conformance to the requirements of CMC-49 and other contractual specifications.

3.  Maintains a general working knowledge of applicable code requirements and other applicable regulatory guides and standards.  Maintains an awareness of technical background for design criteria established by these documents.

4.  Maintains and updates standards for nuclear components and related equipment.  May perform calculations and analyses in support of the development of new component designs, methods, and procedures.

5.  Prepares formal reports and studies for presentation within the Company and to customers.

 

Required Qualifications:

 B.S. or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

 Eight (8) years related experience.

 

Additional Qualifications:

Experience as an electrical, instrumentation, and control systems designer.  Experience in technical industrial environments is required, with experience in a nuclear environment preferred.  Must have experience with electrical power distribution systems and speciictions, instrumentation system speciications, electrical safety considerations, and industry best practices.  Electrical construction knowledge and skills is strongly preferred.  Assumes direct Engineering responsibliity for developing functional design requirements for assigned projects.  Reviews proposed designs and recommends changes that will improve cost, efficiency, and safety.  This position is responsible for individual assignments on project teams.  Complete assignments in accordance with engineering procedures, practices and standards and good work practices.  Conceptualizes, plans, and executes research of investigations into complex issues.  Performs assigned work in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.  Assist in the training of new personnel.

Pay: $65,000 - $103,000

The base salary range for this position in at the start of employment is expected to be between Pay: $65,000 - $103,000  per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
