Security Armorer-Instructor

 

Position Overview:

Performs a variety of security support duties related to firearms, including testing, maintenance, and assists in the operation of the firing range.  Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of security weapons and related equipment.  Instructs Security Officers on proper care and maintenance of all assigned weapons. Calibrates, zeros, and performs user maintenance of small-arms; identifies failures and arranges higher level maintenance accordingly.  Performs weapon inspections in accordance with security requirements.  Assists the instructor training staff with required security training and qualification in accordance with government regulations, security plans, and procedures.

On-site in Erwin, Tennessee.

 

Your Day to Day as a Security Armorer Instructor:

  • Performs duties as the Range Program Administrator for the firearms range staff.
  • Performs inventories and controls the issue of all weapons, equipment and ammunition
  • Issues weapons and temporary replacement firearms as needed.
  • Administers a weapons and equipment accountability and maintenance program to ensure that all weapons deployed on site and at the range meet performance and compliance requirements.
  • Certified armorer with basic weapon maintenance, inspections, inventory and accountability.
  • Maintain Health and Safety Respirator/Protective Equipment requirements for the security force.
  • Performs records maintenance, scheduling, budget preparation, quality control, research, drafting of reports and correspondence, inventory, and firearm inspections.
  • Performs firearm systems maintenance, repair and testing, and completes record maintenance documentation.
  • Performs periodic and random inspections of site-deployed firearm systems.
  • Maintains inventory on all range program items, including ammunition, cleaning supplies, forms, etc.
  • Coordinate with the FOF Coordinator, Force on Force Tactical Exercise Programs for any and all M.I.L.E.S. equipment required
    • Maintain parts for all weapon systems
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (two years of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of college)
  • Six years’ experience in related field (police, military, security)
  • Experience in a security related field is required to demonstrate the ability to apply technical and tactical security in a Category I nuclear environment.

Pay: $ - $ 

The base salary range for this position in at the start of employment is expected to be between $ and $ per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
