AUKUS Project Controls Specialist 1 -- Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc., Erwin, TN 

 

Summary Description of Job:

Develop and maintain discrete resource loaded schedule using P6. Provide variance analysis reports using earned value management. Provide cost, schedule, and resource allocation tracking and trending analysis reporting. Develop estimates based on resource loaded schedules. Establish monthly accruals and estimates to complete. Must be able to perform critical path review for early indicators of schedule deviations. Establish project baselines, budgets at completion, and variance analysis reporting.  Analyze real-time project data to report and explain cost and schedule variance deviations from the baseline and provide details to management.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Provide schedule, earned value, cost management, and tracking and trending analysis.

2.  Schedule status meetings with project management and provide updates to the project team.

3.  Prepare resource loaded schedules with input from management/engineers in accordance with the work breakdown structure. 

4.  Create basic project schedules and budgets with input from the project manager, provide routine monitoring and resolve schedule warnings.

5.  Provide standard cost/schedule analysis and possible mitigations using technical experience, judgement and precedent.

6.  Possess a basic understanding of critical path methods and eared value management techniques.

7.  Develop annual and out-year schedules/budgets with input from the project managers and apply basic cost and schedule analysis fundamentals.

8.  Requires basic conceptual knowledge of practices and procedures within project controls.

 

Educational Requirements of Job (Beyond educational or equivalent):

Bachelor's Degree -- Technical field preferred; B. A.-- Finance or Management or B. S. -- Engineering or Construction Management OR 8 years' relevant experience scheduling, construction or production work environment.

 

Experience Requirements of Job (Beyond educational or equivalent):

With Bachelor's degree 1 - 2 years' experience in a professional setting providing scheduling, critical thinking, and organizational skills.  Work in a construction/production environment preferred.  Having P6 knowledge and the ability to learn how earned value and critical path methods analysis techniques are associated to projects a plus.  General understanding of cost accounting. Without Bachelor's degree, 9 years of relevant experience scheduling in a construction/production work environment.

 

Salary Grade:

5.1

Pay: $56,000 - $88,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $56,000 and $88,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
