Medical Specialist 1 -- Nuclear Fuel Services - Erwin, TN

Summary Description of Job: Assist with the administration of the overall company medical programs, including Physical Program, Restricted Work Program, Worker's Compensation, Fitness for Duty Program, and other medical-related programs at the NFS site.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities of Job:

  1. Assist with first-aid services for NFS personnel including the coordination and completion of Medical Response training for NFS Emergency First Responders.
  2. Maintain adequate supplies for the 350 Building Fitness for Duty and Medical Facility areas to ensure timely support of scheduled and unscheduled (medical emergent) needs.
  3. Assist Medical Specialist 2 & 3 with the administration of the NFS Physical Exam program to include scheduling physicals and assisting the company physician with physicals, spirometer testing, and follow-up with employees.
  4. Assist Medical Specialist 2 & 3 with the administration of the Restricted Work Program by assisting the NFS physician with evaluation of employees for unrestricted return to work following a medical absence.
  5. Assist Emergency Services Specialists with the regulatory required Respirator Fit Testing Program by maintaining qualifications to perform fit testing when directed by the Emergency Services Unit Manager.
  6. Perform Fitness for Duty Program functions including maintaining Collection Site Person (CSP) qualifications, scheduling and performing FFD testing, recordkeeping, and follow-up with the FFDC & Medical Review Officer.
  7. Assist the Emergency Services Unit Manager in the development and implementation of employee health related educational and Wellness type programs.
  8. Assist Medical Specialist 2 & 3 with the administration of Worker's Compensation program claims, short and long-term disability requests, and FMLA request in conjunction with corporate Benefits program management and third-party administrators.
  9. Participate and assist with the organization of NFS conducted safety & wellness events including blood drive collections, flu vaccinations, and safety fairs to promote a safe and healthy workplace.

 

Educational Requirements of Job:

B. S. -- Nursing

 

Experience Requirements (Beyond educational or equivalent):

With a B. S. degree two (2) - three (3) years' experience in hospital or medical office nursing experience required at a minimum, emergency care experience preferred.

Pay: $66,000 - $101,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $66,000 and $101,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
