DOE Security Compliance Unit Manager - Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc.  -  Erwin, TN


Summary Description of Job:


Responsible for the administration and supervision of the Department of Energy (DOE) Security Compliance Program.  Program elements include information security, counterintelligence, COMSEC, personnel access authorization, and Security education and awareness.  The DOE Security Compliance Unit Manager is responsible for ensuring NFS maintains compliance with all applicable DOE Orders.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of DOE Orders and the DOE approved Security Plan.  Provide systematic and disciplined administration of the DOE Security Plan and related procedures to ensure strict compliance with all applicable DOE Orders.
  • Manage the Information Protection Program to ensure adequate control of classified documents and materials.
  • Manage the Personnel Access Authorization Program to include clearance processing, site access restriction, and administrative access denial for employees, vendors, and possessing and non-possessing sub-tier contractors.
  • Manage the Security Education and Awareness Program to include tracking and trending data for planning purposes and to ensure compliance with DOE Orders.
  • Management and oversight of the Entry Exit Control Point areas and personnel.
  • Manage the Vendor Security Program to ensure compliance with DOE requirements imposed on facility sub-tier contractors.
  • Manage the facility COMSEC Program.
  • Manage the cleared and un-cleared visitor access, escort, and escort training programs.
  • Manage the NFS Limited Areas and associated facilities.
  • Support associated Security Programs at NOG-B, NOG-E, NOE-M and NOG-L.
  • Manage professional employees and adapt priorities to meet challenges and commitments.
  • Act as the NFS Facility Security Officer.
  • Provide technical assistance and work closely with the Security Director and Security Compliance and Access Control Manager on security related projects.


Educational Requirements of Job:


  • Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in Criminal Justice or Security Management is preferred.


Experience Requirements of Job:


  • Five (5) years of experience in Security, Regulatory Compliance or related field. 
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance. 
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in a related field is preferred.
