BPF Manager -- Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. -  Erwin, TN


Summary Description of Job:


This position is responsible for ensuring that operations within the BPF are executed safely and in compliance with all defined procedural, regulatory, and quality requirements.  This position is responsible for obtaining, scheduling, and managing the operating resources required to meet contract requirements within budgeted costs.  The BPF Manager is responsible for recommending and implementing appropriate responses to technical and operability issues during startup of new processes.


Major Duties & Responsibilities:


1.  Integrate operation of facility with many different operations and operating principles to achieve the goal of meeting or exceeding all corporate goals for safety, operational excellence, business financial performance and regulatory compliance.

2.  Direct facility operation so that high product quality and maximum production throughput is achieved with minimum manpower and material usages to achieve production goals within budgeted costs.

3.  Observe process operations during startup of new operations.  Act with BPF management team on appropriate technical and operational measures to correct operational issues.

4.  Direct compliant facility safety related equipment (SRE) and items relied on for safety (IROFS) testing, operation, and maintenance compliant with approved procedures.

5.  Direct facility operations such that special nuclear material (SNM) inventory constraints are met.

6.  Direct implementation of employee training to maintain a qualified work force and to enhance safety, regulatory, quality, and operating performance.

7.  Ensure that all procedures, postings, and major work requests relating to facility operations are achieve goals in #1 above.

8.  Mentor supervisors to develop and enhance skills including performance reviews, salary actions, and disciplinary actions.



Education Requirements of Job:


B. S. -- Science or Engineering preferred or Equivalent Experience Acceptable in the amount of 8 years of experience in a technical production environment and/or nuclear facility.


Experience Requirements of Job (Beyond educational or equivalent requirements):


Six to eight years' supervisory/management experience in a technical production environment and/or nuclear facility.  An advanced degree may count toward years of experience.
