Automation Specialist 3 -- Nuclear Fuel Services - Erwin, TN

 

Summary Description of Job:

 

Develops the design and installation requirements for automation hardware and software necessary to support Engineering projects.  Supports troubleshooting and problem resolution for automation hardware/software issues affecting operations.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities of Job:

 

1.  Assumes direct Engineering responsibility for developing Functional Design Requirements and software code for assigned projects.

2.  Provides technical direction to engineers and designers to resolve PLC problems and identify PLC design requirements.

3.  Reviews proposed designs and recommends changes that will improve cost, efficiency, and safety.

4.  Provides technical support to operations to resolve problems with automation hardware and/or software issues.

5.  Provides technical support for installation and maintenance of process instrumentation and PLC hardware.

6.  Specifies automation systems in accordance with NEC, ISA and NFS standards.

7.  Guides, directs, and consults with A/E firms, vendors, and construction contractors, as required, to fulfill assigned projects.

8.  Responsible for individual assignments on project teams.

9.  Provides technical guidance to peers regarding technical issues.

 

Educational Requirements of Job:

 

A. S. -- Electronics or related field OR Equivalent experience acceptable in lieu of a degree in the amount of 4 years' relevant experience.

 

Experience Requirements (Beyond educational or equivalent):

 

With A. S. Degree it requires over ten years' experience in PLC hardware/software design and/or troubleshooting OR without A. S. degree it requires 15 years' relevant experience in PLC hardware/software design and/or troubleshooting.

 

 

Pay: $62,000 - $109,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
