IT Operations Intern (Year-Round)

BWXT is seeking an IT Intern (Year-Round) for its Charlotte, NC location!

Job Description/Duties:

• Provide Tier 1 support for customers and tracking performance through the IT Support Workorders
• Configure mobility solutions via highly secure controls
• Provide customers with local and telephone support by resolving issues, prioritizing issues and escalating as needed.
• Assist customers with desktop operating systems, email, Microsoft Office, PC hardware and Remote Access.
• Document incident/request specifics in the Incident Management System.
• Communicate any current outage/critical incident status to callers and, if new information/symptoms reported notify IT management team.
• Participate in continuous process improvement activities, making recommendations whenever possible.
• Develop solutions to complex problems on computer systems
• Manage backlog of IT tracking system to ensure issues are resolved
• Communicate with teams within IT to develop solutions to work orders
• Participate in teams to support IT projects   

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma with current enrollment and completed college coursework in Information Technology is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems Windows 7 and Windows 10
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office
• Good oral and written communications
• Highly self-motivated
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to end users
• Ability to work in local and remote teams
• Proficiency in typing
• Must be local to Charlotte, NC and have the flexibility to work PT during school and FT during the summer
• Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
