Position Overview:
As our Field Service Project Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of 4–5 project accountants responsible for monitoring project financial performance, including revenue recognition and cash flow. Reporting to the Project Accounting Manager, you will support the Executive VP of Field Services by tracking and analyzing project results, assigning workloads, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role involves collaborating across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other teams, as well as engaging with external stakeholders such as customers and auditors.

Your Day to Day as Supervisor, Field Services Project Accounting:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Lead, coach, and develop a team of project accountants; provide feedback, conduct performance reviews, and ensure workload is balanced and cross-training is in place. Support staff in meeting deadlines, setting priorities, and resolving concerns.
- Project Accounting Oversight: Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, project accruals, revenue recognition, bookings, Price Approval Requests (PARs), and customer agreements. Monitor monthly financial performance and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
- Forecasting & Financial Analysis: Oversee forecasting for backlog and new business projects, including revenue, COGS, GP, and cash flow. Collaborate with operations and sales on budgeting, P&L forecasts, variance analysis, and strategic planning.
- Process Improvement & Best Practices: Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes, implement standardized procedures, and promote operational excellence. Utilize data analysis to track metrics, trends, and solutions for accurate financial reporting.
- Audit & Compliance: Provide support for internal and external audits, including SOX compliance, documentation, and responding to inquiries. Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting standards.
- Additional Leadership Responsibilities: Act as Manager of Project Accounting when delegated, mentor staff, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- University degree or college diploma – Majoring in Accounting.
- Certified Professional Accountant designation (or near completion).
- Minimum of five years accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing/construction environment.
- Previous supervisory experience or leading a team.
- Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others with a commitment to supporting a team.
- General advanced knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft mainly Excel and knowledge in SAP would be an asset.
- Hands on, detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $89,000 and $139,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
