NDE Technical Specialist

We are currently recruiting for an NDE Technical Specialist for our Cambridge, ON location.
 
JOB SUMMARY:
 
Reporting to the NDE Manager, this position entails reviewing and approving NDE technical documentation in order to comply with ASME Codes as well as project and customer requirements.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Undertake standard and routine technical assignments in support of NDE and related activities.
• Analyze processes, test procedures, equipment and standards in order to identify and recommend potential improvements.
• Contribute to the development of new methods.
• Review proposal technical specifications to prepare comments on manufacturing clarifications and deviations to the specifications.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• NDE Level-3 CGSB certification in MT, PT, UT, RT is desirable; minimum of CGSB Level-2 certified in multi-discipline required.
• Prior related experience with hands-on NDE and qualification required.
• Experience with review and approval of NDE Technical documentation, writing procedures and techniques.
• Proficient with ASME Code interpretation, personnel training and certification, and working with technical teams for project support.
• Ability to work unsupervised in field of discipline, following the appropriate procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken).
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Ability to effectively work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
• Proven commitment to process improvement.
