NDE SPECIALIST

Wage rate: $44.00/hr

Primary Function:

To perform all tasks of an Inspector and NDE Specialist conducting non-destructive examinations.

 

Tasks:

  • Perform NDE in all areas of the Shop.
  • Read and interpret documentation, including drawings and operating procedures.
  • Create inspection reports, maintain and file documentation.
  • Demonstrate good workmanship and practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members (i.e. peers, production leadership, project management, engineering) as well as customer representatives.
  • Work in a safe manner, complying with all health, safety and environmental guidelines/regulations.
  • Understand and adhere to quality requirements and productivity expectations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Commitment to quality and the ability to work as a positive, effective team member, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we meet our customer expectations.
  • Must possess CGSB RT Level 2 and UT Level 2 certifications.
  • CEDO.
  • Minimum 5 years’ fabrication/machining inspector experience.

 

Additional assets:

  • Previous experience in a heavy manufacturing environment or in nuclear power-related industry.
  • CGSB MT2, PT2 or both.
  • Proficiency with computer software.
  • Available to work “off shifts”:
    • Nights: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR
    • Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours) OR
    • Weekend nights: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)

PLEASE NOTE:  The successful incumbent will need to work on Day Shift (6am to 4pm; 4 x 10’s) for training.  The training will take a minimum of 3 weeks but may last up to 120 working days.
