Position Overview:
To supervise the Project Planners and Schedulers in support of Components Projects to coordinate related activities for projects in order to meet contract requirements. Coordinate the preparation of resource forecasts for Component Operations. Provide support for proposal planning to ensure that our plans meet customer needs and are achievable opposite any internal constraints.

Your Day to Day as our Master Planning and Scheduling Supervisor:

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and develop project planners and schedulers, ensuring their alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management for the planning and scheduling team.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence

Resource Planning & Scheduling

  • Create and maintain an integrated master schedule and medium-to-long-term production plans, ensuring alignment with demand and resource availability.
  • Develop workload forecasts for the department and manage resources accordingly.
  • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to ensure that project schedules and resource plans remain feasible and aligned.
  • Enhance and manage scheduling processes, tools, and templates.
  • Analyze and resolve resource bottlenecks, ensuring smooth manufacturing execution plans (level three schedules).
  • Run MRP and validate that purchase and planned orders align with the demand.

Reporting & Monitoring

  • Track and report on schedule performance, resource utilization, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Deliver regular internal and contractual customer reporting cycles.
  • Build, analyze, and report monthly/quarterly KPIs for master production schedules and project execution status.
  • Benchmark schedules to verify achievability and alignment with organizational capabilities and goals.
  • Maintain open communication with proposal and project managers regarding schedule changes, risks, and impact assessments.

Risk Management & Change Control

  • Conduct feasibility studies and align schedule contingencies with project risks.
  • Manage and assess scope and schedule changes and ensure updates are reflected in execution plans.
  • Inform project teams of conflicts or issues that may impact schedule performance and support recovery planning

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead efforts to digitize and refine the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
  • Drive continuous improvement within scheduling and resource assignment processes through clear communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Recommend and implement process and operational changes to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and achieve production objectives.

Required Qualifications: 

  • College Diploma or equivalent in Management, material or inventory control.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in manufacturing, with strong exposure to planning and scheduling functions.
  • Proven experience in building and managing an S&OP process.
  • Proficiency in advanced planning and scheduling software solutions such as Oracle, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and data analytics.
  • In-depth understanding of project management processes.
  • Knowledge of operational procedures, including ASME code, and the ability to interpret blueprint drawings.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in nuclear environments is preferred.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $108,000 and $158,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
