We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Technical Specialist position for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

To provide process development and technical support to shop operations in areas such as design, testing, production, operation of equipment and systems.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Process Development
• Prepare detailed process steps following the direction of more senior/professional staff

for work orders while ensuring that economical shop facility, methods and operation
sequences are taken into consideration
• Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules, and reports
• Prepare equipment or hardware operating procedures
• Process Improvement
• Select and use appropriate procedures, equipment and standards to produce requested
results
• Analyze process, test procedures, equipment and standards in order to identify and
recommend potential improvements
• Design performance and safety analyses
• Testing
• Test and calibrate equipment, under general direction, making observations
• Adjust procedures and not anomalies
• Work with professional staff in diagnosing causes of system, equipment, or material
failures using advance testing methods and equipment
• Projects
• Participate in projects related to functional and analytical design and performance
• Ensure that job scope is within budget as well as review first of a kind estimate with cost
analysis or proposal estimate
• Technical Documentation
• Develop technical documents with cross functional teams
• Prepare calculations
• Clarify and revise technical specifications with vendors to establish procedures to
complete the contract and comply with code requirements


KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• College Diploma (Technical, Manufacturing Engineer Technology etc.) or an equivalent
combination of education and experience
• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Requires understanding of reference materials and standards
• Computer skills
