Manager, Nuclear Services Design Engineering
We are looking for a Manager, Nuclear Services Design Engineering for our facility in Cambridge, ON.
Provide leadership and supervisory support for the Field Services Engineering Tooling Design Group. The group is responsible for the design and development of specialized tooling to support field service inspection and maintenance activities. This includes all phases of design from proposal and estimating and technical specification development through to design, prototyping, fabrication and qualification.
• Resource management - Resource planning, assignment of tasks and responsibilities, development of relationships with other organizations to augment staff as required.
• Oversee all design activities to ensure cost and schedule commitments and technical (including applicable codes and standards) requirements are met.
• Responsible for maintenance of design related operating procedures and design software and hardware. Will conduct regular reviews and take action as required to address concerns or deficiencies.
• Provide technical support and management oversight during validation and commissioning of new tooling (may be at site as required).
• Active participation in process improvement initiatives.
• Prepare design engineering estimates based on customer RFQ’s and other technical documents. Prepare technical write-ups to support proposal efforts.
• Prepare, manage and update cost centre budget.
• Salary planning and performance management.
• Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical) with P.Eng designation.
• Strong problem solving, leadership, organizational, planning and supervisory skills.
• Experience with specialized tooling design and automation, is an asset.
• Familiarity with nuclear plant systems and inspection and maintenance of plant components is an asset.
• Knowledge of specific technical disciplines such as welding, machining, NDE are assets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
