Maintenance Technician (Dual Ticket Millwright and Electrician)

 

Hourly rate of pay: $46.24

at our Cambridge, Ontario facility.

Job Summary:

 

To build, inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment in support of manufacturing activities.

 

Tasks:

 

  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Read mechanical and electrical blueprints, drawing, diagrams, instructions, etc.
  • Complete records and documentation as required.
  • Interface with suppliers and outside support personnel.
  • Work in a safe manner, demonstrating good workmanship and practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Certificate of Qualification in Industrial Mechanic and Industrial Electrician. 
  • Level One (Gas Technician GT-1) is preferred, but not required
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must have knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. This includes above and below shoulder level.
  • Basic Computer Skills - MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat
  • Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs [CMMS]
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot various type of industrial equipment from basic to complex.
  • Ability to read equipment blueprints/schematics.
  • The ability to safely operate power / hand tools and all related safety equipment.
  • Available to work all shifts:
    • Weekday days: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR
    • Weekday afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR
    • Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours) OR
    • Weekend afternoons: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)

The starting rate for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) is $46.24 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
