Inspection Services Technician - Equipment Tech (CGSB UT Level I preferred)


We are recruiting for an Inspection Services Technician - Equipment Tech (CGSB UT Level I preferred) for our facility in Cambridge, ON.


Inspection Services is a dynamic group within the BWXT Canada Nuclear Services division. We are responsible for performing in-service inspections at CANDU power plants within Canada and around the world. We develop and deliver advanced NDE inspection services to our customers such as long reach and remote inspections utilizing specialized tooling.  Our strength is our ability to deliver unique solutions to complex problems. • Ownership of tooling during predeployment, training and site execution.
• Hands-on support of pre-deployment activities related to inspection tooling. Assemble, test, refurbish and validate equipment prior to site deployment.
• Execute site work in accordance with all procedures.
• Maintain tooling and spare parts inventory. Track tooling failures and status.
• Assist in training of temporary personnel for site execution.
• Prepare or review procedures.
• Provide hands-on technical support for equipment set-up, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Oversee work of tradespersons. Ensure site work is executed in accordance with safety requirements, procedures, and inspection plans.
• Interface with customers, site inspectors and vendors.
• Prepare status reports.



•             Able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance in order to gain access to nuclear power plant sites.
•             Related experience in an NDE discipline (UT preferred).
•             CGSB certification would be an asset (UT Level I) but not required. Training would be provided.
•             Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
•             Site work/travel up to 60%.
•             Shift work with extended hours of work during site execution.
•             Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
•             Must be willing to work in a radiological environment.
