BWXT Canada is seeking a Director, Project Management - Field Services to join our team in Cambridge, ON. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive strategic growth, manage complex nuclear projects, and lead a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to acquire new projects and expand customer relationships in the Nuclear Plants sector.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-15 Project Managers to achieve high performance and professional growth.
  • Project Financials: Oversee project budgets, gross profit, and contract cash flow, ensuring financial goals are met through efficient resource allocation.
  • Project Execution & Oversight: Lead proposal development, make bid/no-bid decisions, and ensure projects are executed within scope, on time, and aligned with financial and operational objectives.
  • Customer Relations: Serve as the primary liaison with senior customer leadership to foster strong partnerships and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure regulatory compliance, cost management, schedule control, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Performance & Growth: Set performance goals, track key metrics, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to drive project success and service delivery.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. 
  • Experience: At least 15 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on the nuclear industry or a similar technical field. 
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Proven ability to manage P&L (Profit & Loss) for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and developing cross-functional teams to achieve goals.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, management, and customers.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to proactively address and resolve complex project issues, ensuring minimal disruption to timelines and customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: A continuous improvement mindset for driving operational excellence and innovation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working in the nuclear, energy, or similar highly regulated industries is highly desirable.

Security Clearance:

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process.  The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[177,000]] and $[[221,000]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
