About the Role
As our new Compensation Specialist, you’ll support the design and administration of Canadian compensation programs and serve as a key advocate for local needs within global initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation—with a dotted line to the HR Director, Commercial Operations—you’ll use your data-driven insights and strong business acumen to guide decision-making and enhance our compensation strategy.
This position requires discretion, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to simplify complex compensation concepts for a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Job Evaluation & Job Architecture

Manage and maintain job evaluation governance for non-union roles.

Conduct evaluations using the established point-factor methodology and provide guidance on job design.

Coach HR and business leaders on evaluation practices and maintain documentation in HR systems.
Compensation Program Management

Administer salary reviews, incentive programs, and conduct equity and market analysis.

Advise on job offers, promotions, and pay adjustments using internal and market data.

Lead salary survey participation and analyze results to benchmark competitiveness.

Monitor and enhance compensation policies, structures, and annual planning (budgets, pay grades).

Ensure compliance with pay equity and employment standards legislation (Federal and Ontario).
Additional Contributions

Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on total rewards guidance.

Help develop and maintain compensation policies and procedures.

Proactively identify process improvements and support special projects as needed.
What You Bring:
-
Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field; CHRL and/or CCP in progress preferred.

2–3 years of compensation-related experience, ideally with point-factor evaluation exposure.

Knowledge of Pay Equity and employment legislation (Ontario and Federal).

Strong analytical and Excel skills; proficiency in PowerPoint and HR systems.

Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Discretion, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $98,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
