Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Qualification, documentation, and maintenance of welding consumables.
  • Responsible for development and support of welding consumable testing plans in accordance with contract technical requirements.
  • Works with shop floor operations to manage the completion of testing plans.
  • Working with vendors to ensure purchase order deliverables satisfy our specified purchasing requirements.
  • Maintains our internal quality assurance program for welding consumables. This includes ensuring sample testing and document control is completed accurately to meet specification requirements and continues through ownership of materials for quality compliance in inventory and production use.
  • Forecasts welding consumables needs and manages inventory to determine when material needs ordered.
  • Works with purchasing and Welding Engineering to procure welding consumables.
  • Identifies and creates purchasing requirements in accordance with contract technical requirements.

 

Job requirements:

 

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Engineering is required. Welding Engineering or Material Science Engineering is preferred.
  • Qualifications include strong communication skills, project management experience, detail oriented, and adapt with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Preferred experience using SAP software for material handling.
  • Procurement experience is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.
