Position Overview: As the Test Facility Technician general work will include fabrication/machining of test hardware and test setups, installation of instrumentation, operating flow tests (controlling pumps, valves, and heaters), fabrication/machining of tooling/fixtures to support large fabrication, and maintenance of the facility and test loops.

Your Day to Day as a Test Facility Technician:
CNC and Manual Machining:
- Create, edit, and verify programs for CNC mills and lathes
- Setup and operate Manual and CNC Mills and Lathes
- Use drawings and measuring devices (Micrometers, Calipers, Etc.) to inspect parts
- Order consumables and identify and order tools
Fabrication
- Manual welding of carbon steel, inconel, and stainless steel
- General use of shears, saws, grinders, and torches
- Perform rigging and lifting of complex components weighing up to 10 tons
- Setup and fixturing of the weldment
- Use drawings and measuring devices (Tape Measures, Micrometers, Calipers, Etc.) to inspect parts
Testing
- Fabricate and install test hardware and take as-build measurements from drawings
- Build test loops from basic Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and Engineering instruction
- Install and wire instrumentation; perform continuity checks on the wiring and checks using the data acquisition system and LabView
- Operate Test Loops to achieve desired test points while documenting all activities in a log book
Facility/Test Loop Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance on the shop equipment (Mills, Lathes, Bandsaws, Welders, etc.)
- Perform checks and maintain the test loops (Pumps as large as 1750 HP, Bearings, Oil, Seals, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance on other general facility items and work with contractors where necessary
Quoting/Proposals
- Quote or assist with quoting tooling and or testing jobs (hours and material)
- Fill out purchase requests and work with the purchasing department to purchase the required material
Required & Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with manual and CNC machining, manual welding, within a test laboratory environment, and/or maintenance of CNC machines, welders, and pump. (Candidates with experience in 1 of the 4 skills listed will be considered.)
- Familiar with basic PC use, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- ASME welding certification is a plus, but not required.
