Technology Manager - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH   

 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Cost/Span/Technology Manager, as part of the Strategic Initiatives Group. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team in identifying, evaluating, and implementing strategies to reduce costs and span, streamline processes, and integrate new technologies across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, cost analysis, and innovation, with a focus on driving efficiency and maximizing value.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement cost and span reduction strategies with a focus on manufacturing operations and breaking down silo-driven inefficiencies.
  • Manage team members by providing guidance and instruction on a portfolio of projects, delegating work, overseeing progress, and coaching as required.
  • Motivate department to identify new opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency improvements through new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ensure department thoroughly identifies all project stakeholders, developing collaborative action plans that achieve both short term milestones and successful long-term implementation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the organization’s operations.
  •  Drive the adoption of innovative technologies and practices through effective change management and training programs.
  • Monitor and track progress on cost reduction initiatives, providing regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and barriers to implementation and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  •  Foster a culture of continuous improvement, creativity, and cost consciousness within the working groups assembled for each department project.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, cost reduction, and process improvement, ideally in a manufacturing or operations environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with a variety of cost reduction methodologies, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, value engineering, etc.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their applications in business operations, such as AI, IoT, robotics, etc.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience leading change initiatives in a complex organizational environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering measurable cost savings and process improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
