Unit Manager, Supplier Quality -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, Ohio

BWX Technologies, Barberton, OH location is looking for a Unit Manager of Supplier Quality to join the team! This individual will directly supervise the Supplier Quality Organization to assure that our commitment to quality is upheld and the department executes its work in a timely and compliant manner.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the following roles in the Supplier Quality Organization:
    • Supplier Quality Engineering
    • Auditing (Internal and External)
    • Supplier NDE Support
    • Dimensional Source Inspection
    • Receipt Inspection
  • Work with Procurement to help maintain oversight on critical suppliers
  • Work with suppliers to help identify to identify risks and countermeasures
  • Perform Supplier Visits to assure product quality as needed
  • Work with suppliers on new programs and assure good communication channels exist
  • Work with suppliers for Corrective and Preventative actions
  • Work with other departments to resolve vendor quality issues
  • Reporting on supplier quality performance
  • Work with other Quality Unit Managers to manage and control budget expenses
  • Support Operational Assurance Internal auditing program and vendor surveillance and audit program.
  • Participates and/or coordinates in the resolution of quality issues and interpretation of quality requirements.
  • Serves as the primary interface with customer and government representatives on supplier quality issues.
  • Provides oversight of the Dimensional Source Inspection program.
  • Provides direct support of cross company supplier management teams
  • Provides oversight of supplier procedure submittals and reviews.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior experience leading a team
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and DOE security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and assembly
  • Experience or knowledge of inspection techniques including dimensional inspection, NDE methods such as ultrasound, mag particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection and/or radiography

 

Pay: $99,000 - $142,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $99,000 and $142,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
