BWXT is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager for its Barberton, OH location!

 

The Senior IT Project Manager, is a strategic, conceptual, innovative expert in the project management discipline, with a broad range of business experience. Manage the initiation, planning, execution, control, budget and closing of strategic, complex, high-risk IT projects, in the areas of Applications, ERP, Infrastructure, Cyber Security and Acquisitions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the successful execution of critical, complex, high-risk projects
  • Develop the strategy for project execution, define project scope, general specifications, resource requirements, schedule, and cost estimate baselines.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, manage external vendors, and lead vendor selection and contract negotiations. 
  • Manage the strategic direction and daily tactical aspects of projects, meeting aggressive deadlines.
  • Collaborate to develop return on investment (ROI) and obtain management approvals. 
  • Work with resource managers to staff projects, considering impact on other projects, and functional and operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and estimates in defined Project Management tool, maintain project team site and accurate documentation.
  • Pro-actively manage project schedule, resources, budget, change control, issues and risks, escalating as necessary to ensure barriers are removed and projects meet their schedules.
  • Provide timely and accurate project status reporting and meetings, targeting different audiences including project team, PMO, Stakeholders and Executives.
  • Ensure project scope, schedule, budget, quality and associated metrics are available and accurate and meet PMO standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure project management approaches are consistent, measurable and aligned with PMO standards and best practices.
  • Oversee the quality aspects of the project, and ensure that project solutions meet the needs of the enterprise and business unit representatives.
  • Assist in the implementation of project management tools and methodologies.
  • May lead and provide mentoring and support to other Project Managers.
  • Champion the promotion of integrity in all projects, ensuring the projects are run effectively and with proper governance.
  • Understand and anticipate internal and external business challenges. Make optimal recommendations and decisions based on organizational needs.
  • Professionally challenge stakeholders on critical project success factors. 
  • This position can be located at our facility in Barberton, OH, or remote.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Computer science or IT.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ project management experience.
  • Relevant project experience managing multiple, concurrent, complex IT projects in Business Applications (Manufacturing, ERP, Financial Systems – GL, AP). Project experience in IT Infrastructure, Acquisitions or Cyber Security a plus.
  • Proven ability to define solutions and solve problems through conceptual and innovative thought processes.
  • Ability to proactively anticipate and resolve challenges.
  • Expert understanding of automation tools and information technology. 
  • Demonstrable success in defining, organizing, managing and delivering projects, meeting scope, quality, schedule and budget. 
  • Proven success in proactive issue resolution and risk management.
  • Experience with the project management body of knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Visio. 
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal leadership and communication skills. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance is required.

 

Preferred Additional Qualifications

  • PMP Certification. 

 

Benefits: 

The Senior IT Project Manager will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

Pay: $92,000 - $142,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Ohio at the start of employment is expected to be between $92,000 and $142,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
