Position Overview:
The Safety Technician is responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The technician will conduct safety inspections and audits, investigate incidents, and provide recommendations to improve safety practices.

On-site in Barberton, Ohio
Your Day to Day as a Safety Technician- Off Shift:
- Conduct regular audit inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations through EHS audits.
- Advise and assist Front Line Managers and employees on all safety requirements and regulations of the industry.
- Review and update the Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Review current policies and procedures for compliance. Ensure all employees are in compliance with the JSA.
- Assist with orientation safety presentations, Safety Committee meetings, and monthly site trainings.
- Perform PPE inspections (including but not limited to fall protection and respirator protection) adequately and completely according to regulations and industry standards.
- Attend and participate in daily site communication meetings.
- Stay updated on industry standards and trends related to occupational safety and health.
- Conduct incident and near miss investigations and follow up on near hit reports.
- Foster a positive safety culture through education, knowledge, professionalism within the organization.
- Take initiative with assignments and ensure timely follow-up and full completion of all tasks.
- Demonstrate thorough communication and documentation during Shift Turnover meetings and investigations.
Required Qualifications:
- High School level education required.
- A minimum of 3 years of previous jobsite safety experience. Recent Safety graduates may use degree in lieu of experience.
- Excellent oral and written skills to effectively communicate with hourly and salary employees.
- Potential exposure to hazardous materials or environments.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized training, such as an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from a related field is preferred.
