Position Overview:
As Quality Manager at a unionized facility supporting the Naval Propulsion Activity, you will lead Quality Assurance activities to ensure high-quality component production while maintaining a zero-incident health and safety culture. You will also communicate quality and safety expectations through presentations and uphold union contract obligations by maintaining cooperative labor-management relationships and managing union matters, including the Partnership Agreement with Local 900, while reporting directly to the General Manager.

Your Day to Day as the Quality Manager:
- Drive and promote a zero-incident health and safety culture.
- Support the strategy and implementation of local and corporate safety programs to achieve long-term goals.
- Manages all aspects of facility Quality Assurance.
- Coordinates quality metric development and reporting for the facility.
- Provides direction to Technical Managers regarding quality department objectives and goals.
- Provides leadership for all personnel in terms of the importance of quality standards and operating principles that ensure exceptional quality hardware and software are supplied to the customer.
- Responsible for ensuring quality support is provided to facilitate operations.
- Ensure examiner staff and appointments are in place to facilitate Dimensional, Assembly & Test, and Non-Destructive testing personnel are adequately trained and monitored by contract requirements and shop operations.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with customer representatives to promote transparent program quality objectives and instill trust in the operations.
- Facilitate development and maintenance of budgets/manpower levels for Quality Operations.
- Oversee and approve contractual quoting activities for department.
- Manage load board development and maintenance for Quality Assurance.
- Manage development and approval of capital projects that support quality operations.
- Facilitate development of procedures that support Corporate Quality Management System (QMS) goals and objectives.
- Manage auditing activities to support Corporate QMS requirements, and local needs to ensure operational compliance with all contract and quality system mandates.
- Coordinate supplier oversite with internal and external groups, including supplier audits and source inspection.
- Champion Material Review Board activities.
- Manage corrective and preventative action activities to ensure the organization is working to continuously improve processes to reduce and/or eliminate issues that affect product or customer requirements.
- Develop and deliver presentations to the workforce and customer representatives, including but not limited to, Deliberate Malpractice presentations, Naval Reactor Reviews, Expectation and Product Quality Issues presentations, Need-to-Know (workforce awareness) presentations, and additional Quality and Safety related topics as required.
- Responsible for abiding by the union contract and interfaces with union representatives on grievance activities, arbitrations, and negotiations. Responsible for maintaining the Partnership Agreement with Local 900.
- Initiates and promotes mutually beneficial cooperative efforts between labor and management.
- Responsible for maintaining adequately trained workforce.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science is preferred.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years related experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of precision manufacturing/quality inspection experience with a working knowledge of GD&T principles (ANSI Y 14.5).
- Previous managerial experience is required.
- Skilled in public speaking and presentation development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to train professional personnel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
Pay: $136,000 - $207,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $136,000 and $207,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
