Quality Assurance Engineer - Gage Design - BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, OH

 

Responsibilities include:  

  • Resolution of quality issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inspection plans.

  • Participate or Lead audits of internal departments and suppliers to assure compliance to customer and internal requirements.

  • Shop floor surveillance to compliance to internal procedures and customer standards.

  • Support of hourly inspection personnel and development of inspection technique documentation.

  • Leadership of process improvement activities.

  • Maintenance of quality assurance records Participation on design teams for development of product inspection plans Analysis of quality trending data to implement product improvement actions.
  • Procedure development and ownership.
  • Maintenance of ISO9000 quality system procedures and work instructions.
  • Management of CAPA (corrective action) resolution for component processes.
  • Design and implement functional gages for BWXT hardware Prepare capital packages for purchase of new gages Support other Quality Engineers with gaging and inspection planning need
  • Develop and maintain Dimensional Inspection Technique sheets (DITS) Create CAD models and drawings.
  • Create CAD models and drawings. Strong solid model CAD experience a plus.

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

 

  • Assosicates degree in engineering or technical field is required.
  • 2 years quality assurance, engineering or manufacturing experience required.
  • CAD software experieance
  • Solid math/statistical skills and knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and print reading.
  • Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and assembly preferred but not required.
  • Experience or knowledge of inspection techniques including dimensional inspection, NDE methods such as ultrasound, mag particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection and/or radiography preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and DOE security clearance.

 

 

Pay: $62,000 - $109,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
