Manufacturing Engineering Technical Specialist  -   BWX Technologies, Inc. -   Barberton, Ohio 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Prepares detailed manufacturing process plans assuming total responsibility for the quality, cost effectiveness and delivery of the manufactured product.
  • Maintains full knowledge of current and new manufacturing techniques and is a source of expertise of manufacturing, machining, and/or administrative procedures.
  • Has ability to fully comprehend contractual specifications and requirements. Can determine impact of new requirements and negotiate changes to requirements with the customer.
  • Evaluates application of contract requirements to the fabrication cycle and determines the most efficient/economical manner to apply requirements to the fabricated product.
  • Evaluates complex fabrication drawings to assure feasibility from a fabrication standpoint. Participates in design reviews on all product lines to assess fabricability and cost effectiveness of products being evaluated.
  • Prepares all necessary manufacturing plans to assure efficient/cost effective fabrication of products within the NED facility. Assures the plans incorporates all necessary contract requirements to assure proper product quality.
  • Identifies tooling needs, machining adaptations and application of new manufacturing techniques that can be used to improve production performance.
  • Evaluates problems that impact various departments and resolves them in an across the board fashion to the benefit of the entire Division.
  • Assumes major role in training new and/or existing employees in the areas of manufacturing techniques, welding, machining and application of contract requirements.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • Associates Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience 
  • Qualifications include strong communication and coordination skills, and interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DOE issued Security Clearance.

 

 

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
