Manufacturing Engineering Technical Specialist  -   BWX Technologies, Inc. -   Barberton, Ohio  

  

Responsibilities include: 

  

  • Assists with the development and support of manufacturing process plans in accordance with contract technical requirements. 

  • Maintains full knowledge of current and new manufacturing techniques and is a source of expertise of manufacturing and machining. 

  • Has ability to fully comprehend contractual specifications and requirements. Can determine impact of new requirements. 

  • Evaluates application of contract requirements to the fabrication cycle and determines the most efficient/economical manner to apply requirements to the fabricated product. 

  • Support in evaluation of fabrication drawings to assure feasibility from a fabrication standpoint.  

  • Prepares all necessary manufacturing plans to assure efficient/cost effective fabrication of products within the NED facility. Assures the plans incorporates all necessary contract requirements to assure proper product quality. 

  • Identifies tooling needs, machining adaptations and application of new manufacturing techniques that can be used to improve production performance. 

  • Evaluates problems that impact various departments and escalate them accordingly to support operational excellence.  

  • Assist in the technical training of new and/or existing employees in the areas of manufacturing specialization including welding, machining and application of contract requirements. 

  

Job Qualifications/Requirements: 

  

  • Associates Degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience  

  • Qualifications include strong communication and coordination skills, and interest in working with multiple disciplines in support of product design and manufacture. 

  • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DOE issued Security Clearance. 

 

U.S. Citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position. 

 

Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (no dual citizenship) with ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance involving an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
