Maintenance Supervisor  -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  -  Barberton, Ohio

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for supervisory duties of hourly maintenance Electricians, HVACR Repairmen, EPA attendant, Helper/Sweeper, and Construction Specialists across the entire facility. Includes working with union contract requirements when addressing hourly employee concerns.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and facility engineers to complete plant project work. 
  • Provides safety leadership and support for all department activities with an emphasis on electrical, HVACR, and construction duties.
  • Responsible for job assignments, setting priorities, setting performance expectations, and identifying/addressing employee performance issues/concerns.
  •  Assures equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and breakdowns are effectively being worked in order to maintain/improve equipment uptime. 
  • Communicates and collaborates with production foremen and engineering departments on setting priorities and planning work.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance on equipment repairs and spare parts. 
  • Maintains parts stock through purchasing and inventory control.
  • Maintains service contract purchase orders and schedules work as required.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and maintenance of outside plant services such as snow removal, vehicle repairs, electrical repairs, HVAC repairs, etc.

 

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

 

  • First shift position.  Some weekends and parts of holidays during plant outages required.  Must be available for scheduled overtime.
  • Electrical knowledge of high, medium, and low voltage systems is required.
  • HVACR systems experience and knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience in a supervisory role, union environment experience is a plus.
  • Must possess good leadership, decision making, and communications skills.  Must be able to communicate, direct and interact with subordinates, peers, and superiors.
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience working with HVACR systems, electrical power distribution, and facilities maintenance.
  • Computer experience with EasyPower, AutoCAD, Microsoft Suite, and SAP desired.
