Front Line Manager - Fabrication / Welding (Weekend Shift)  -  BWX Technologies, Inc.  - Barberton, Ohio

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for supervising hourly skilled trades in the areas of fitting, welding, and assembly operations.
• Oversight of the manual, robotic and automatic welding operations, stress relief operations, and lifting/handling.

• Recommends improvements in shop operating procedures, policies and processes, and may recommend the acquisition of additional or new equipment and machinery when costs and production problems dictate.  Leads and/or participates in teams focused on improving operations.  

• Administers the bargaining unit agreement, transfers, training of subordinates and recommending workforce changes, including discharges.  Performs other miscellaneous functions that are common responsibilities of all supervisory personnel.  Takes a lead role in providing specialized training for hourly employees such as operation of manlifts, machine tools, cranes…etc. 

• This position is on weekend shift.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• 7 - 10 years experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a union environment.
• Prefer experience in heavy fabrication, fitting and welding.
• Must possess good leadership and communications skills.
• Must be available for scheduled overtime.
