BWXT is currently seeking Engineering Interns (Summer 2022) for its Barberton facility


We are looking for motivated college students to join our highly-skilled team of engineers for an exciting summer internships in Ohio.


Job Description/Duties:

The Engineering Interns will provide Engineering support across various departments in the Nuclear Operations Group.

Develops and delivers unique engineering solutions used in a nuclear metalworking environment

Possible internships in the following disciplines/departments:


Manufacturing Engineering

Design Engineering

Tooling Engineering

Quality Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Facilities Engineering


Job Qualifications/Requirements


At BWXT, our interns perform challenging tasks in their field of study while developing and delivering unique engineering solutions for use in a nuclear environment. Our interns work collaboratively as part of our Engineering team and will create/update drawings and procedures, assist with product and/or tooling designs, perform testing and analysis, and assist with project management and the procurement of materials as needed.  A BWXT internship not only provides valuable on the job training but allows you to be a part of something bigger.


BWXT offers paid internships along with a housing stipend for those interns whose home of record is more than 50 miles from our facility.  Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks. At the end of the internship, each intern has the opportunity to present their completed work/ assigned projects to the team.


Successful candidates must be currently enrolled in an ABET accredited engineering program.  Additionally:


  • Students must be at a sophomore standing or above at the time the internship begins
  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • US citizenship with no dual citizenship is required for this position
